Hertz Gold Plus Membership Pickup at MCO
If you’re going on a Disney Cruise (or, I suppose another cruise line, if you must. Kidding!) You will have some distance to cover to get yourself from Orlando airport to Port Canaveral. At times another of the Disney ships have sailed out of Port Canaveral, but within the last year we’ve sailed on both the Disney Wish and the Disney Fantasy and each time we explored many options for transportation, from Lyfts and Ubers to taking the Disney Transfer bus from our Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. But on both trips at least on of the parts made the most sense to rent a car. So whether you need to get a large family (and ALLLL that luggage) to the ship, or if you just need somewhere to store your bags while you spend a final awesome day in the theme parks, we have solutions for you.
In November we cruised on the Disney Wish and it was so nice to have our own car to pull up to the cruise port. I was worried the parking process may be tricky but first you pull up to the terminal and drop your bags with the porters, who were honestly some of the coolest and most helpful dudes, and then we parked in the parking garage just across the street. Super quick and easy. You can see the whole process in this video here!
Now wait, Laura. How did you pick up this car? Well, we were Hertz Gold Plus Members and so we didn’t even have to go up to the counter or anything! There’s a board at the car rental pickup with all the reservation names listed and we just went to our row and picked out a car. My kids had so much fun “car shopping” from all the great models Hertz had to offer. I highly recommend signing up for the Hertz loyalty program because it pays to be a Gold Plus Rewards Member. Your vacation will start with exactly the easy peasy vibes you’re looking for.
And did you know that MCO has a differenct car rental return in Terminal C than it does in Terminal A and B? And they don’t mind which one you return the car to, so just drop your car off at the end of your vacation at the location that works best for you! We show you what the Terminal C drop off looks like, since that’s the one we used.
Alamo Car Rental Port Canaveral Shuttle and One Way Rental to Disney World
After an amazing cruise with my mom in March, we wanted to spend one last day in Disney World before flying home. But… where could we leave our luggage while we romped around Hollywood Studios? We couldn’t just drop it at Bell Services like we would if we were a hotel guest. We were nervous about dropping it at a luggage service at Orlando International Airport. So… we priced out one-way car rentals from Port Canaveral to MCO and it was shockingly affordable! There weren’t any noticeable fines or fees for taking a one-way rental! So we used the shuttle service just outside the Disney Cruise Terminal and within 5 minutes we were at the rental office. All in all the process to pick up our car took under 45 minutes from the second we stepped off the ship to putting our key in the ignition of our Prius. And then we made it to Hollywood Studios just over one hour later. There was something really comforting, knowing that we could leave at a time frame that we felt comfortable with and have full control over getting to the airport in time for our flight. This was a huge relief and allowed us to enjoy a real day of magic in Disney World!! And give MuppetVision 3-D one final goodbye <sobs>. You can see all the details of the pickup and drop off process in our video linked here! I can’t recommend an Alamo rental any more. Let me know what you end up deciding on for your rental car needs for your next Disney vacation!
